WOMEN DISCRIMINATION IN WORK FIELDS

Often women are discriminated in most workfields since sexism is still a thing in the 20th century. You like it or not women always have to work hader and wiser than men confronting sexual harrasment at their jobs, low income, discrimination and catcalling.
I am going to ephazise this issue into the following 3 work spaces

  1. Science and Math
  2. Sports
  3. Acting
According to UIS data, less than 30% of the world’s researchers are women. UIS data also show the extent to which these women work in the public, private or academic sectors, as well as their fields of research. But to truly reduce the gender gap, we must go beyond the hard numbers and identify the qualitative factors that deter women from pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics
Women scientists suffer discrimination in these arenas rest on a set of studies undergirding policies and programs aimed at remediation. the ongoing focus on sex discrimination in reviewing, interviewing, and hiring represents costly, misplaced effort: Society is engaged in the present in solving problems of the past, rather than in addressing meaningful limitations deterring women's participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics careers today. Addressing today's causes of underrepresentation requires focusing on education and policy changes that will make institutions responsive to differing biological realities of the sexes.
Most men within the industry think that women in sports are useless and base their opinions on stadistics.Statistics show that female sports do not carry the same weight as male sports. According to the Women’s Sports Foundation, male athletes get $179 million more in athletic scholarships each year than females do. Additionally, collegiate institutions spend just 24 percent of their athletic operating budgets on female sports, as well as just 16 percent of recruiting budgets and 33 percent of scholarship budgets on female athletes
Research supports the notion that there is less value placed on women’s sports. This leads to unequal wages and coverage when compared to men’s sports. Although approximately 40 percent of sport and physical activity participants are women, only 6 to 8 percent of total media sports coverage is devoted to their athletics, according to the Women's Sports Foundation. As well on the bright side Multiple committees have been formed to improve gender equality in athletics. In 1995, the Beijing Platform for Action was adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women, with the goal of providing policy recommendations on women, gender equality and sport. It called for accessible sports facilities at all educational institutions, establishment of gender-sensitive programs at educational, workplace and community institutions and equal opportunities for women to participate in athletics on the same basis as men.
Hollywood is largely a male-dominated industry, but not because there’s a shortage of talented, well-trained, highly educated women. In fact, the gender gap in college enrollment at top film schools is minuscule. For example, females represent 51 percent of graduate students at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts and 46 percent at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Among the findings: An overwhelming majority of film studio heads were white males, and the same was true for senior management. These networks typically wield influence and power to help others like them. People not like them must find a way to get around a barrier to advancement opportunities, but the barrier never goes away.Women in cinema are overrepresented in traditionally female-dominated occupations, such as teachers, pink-collar workers, and waitresses, and underrepresented in high-level occupations, such as doctors and engineers. At the same time womrn are not payed the same in this work space many  celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Kerry Washington, Emma Watson, and Beyoncé, who have spoken out about the persistent gender pay gap
